Public is Allowed to Speak on August 6th

Barred-owl photo by Kirk Rondorf

On July 16th the Woodinville City Council voted to allow public argument at the closed-record appeal. The hearing will be held Monday, August 6th at 6 PM in Council Chambers at the Woodinville City Building. A large crowd is expected.

Our Hard Work Pays Off

CNW's appeal to the City Council brings the decision making where it has always belonged... in front of our elected officials. And now the Council has wisely decided to allow the public to speak, too!

CNW has fought long and hard for this moment. Many thousands of hours and dollars have been poured into this pursuit. We believe retention of our rural character and supporting infrastructure is of paramount importance to our families, our environment, and our quality of life. The arguments against the proposed high-density developments of Wood Trails and Montevallo are numerous and valid. Other developers would like to follow suit; we need to set the rules, not the developers.

For more information on the hearing process watch the July 16th Council video. Please contact the City for questions regarding regulations.

Why Should I Go?

Even if you don't speak, come to the appeal, anyway. The effect of a large crowd speaks volumes to the City Council. Bring your spouse, your kids, your neighbors. And bring a lawnchair as they are expecting a crowd large enough to flow onto the patio outside the building. Once there you'll have the chance to meet like-minded neighbors, those who care for the future of our City. Your kids will benefit from seeing the government in action.

What Else Can I Do?

Make a donation to cover our quickly mounting legal fees. CNW has appealed the Hearing Examiner's recommendation in this struggle and we especially need your support this month. Keep in mind the high cost of hooking up to sewer, the gas spent sitting in traffic, and the cost to develop infrastructure for hundreds of new houses and give accordingly. Two-thirds of your neighbors already have.

Vote wisely in the primary on August 21st (See here for a list of candidates friendly to CNW and R-1 protection). Evaluate then campaign for your favorite candidate. Vote again in the general election November 6th.

Remember to Vote in the Primary on August 21st.
